Find Me printing solves the problem of finding the closest printer from a long list of available printers. It is a roaming print service that allows print jobs to find users based on their physical location. It is sometimes referred to as “Pull Printing”, “Push Printing” or “Follow Me” printing. It is a great solution for an organisation that has hundreds of printers, selecting the best printing for your job can seem overwhelming at times. Papercuts Find-Me Printing solves this issue by having the print job locate the user, rather than the user locate the printer.
Users simply print to a single global virtual queue, then go to a print release station and release their print job(s). The print release station could be a hardware add on with a viewing screen that shows held jobs and releases them to the most appropriate printer, or the jobs can be released via the Konica Minolta multifunction printer’s touch screen. There are a variety of ways a user can log on to the bizhub, by access card (useful if cards are already being used in the building), finger vein authentication and of course via the control panel.
